Matthew is an integral part of the marketing department and is exceptionally reliable. In the two years Matthew Formosa has worked at Arringo, he has grown in leaps and bounds and continues to inspire all those around him. 

Having recently been promoted, we sat down with Matthew to get the scoop on his growth and success at Arringo thus far. 

When did you join Arringo?  

I joined Arringo in December 2020 as an Affiliate Coordinator. While I was pursuing my Masters in Digital Marketing and Strategic Management, I was working on a part-time basis in finance and I knew it wasn’t the right career path for me. After I graduated, my next step was to look for a full-time job in marketing and that’s where I came across the vacancy at Arringo.  

The change from finance to marketing at first, was a complete shock, but then I started liking the intensity at which we work and the fact that every day is a different challenge and opportunity to be creative.   

Did you always know that you wanted to work in marketing? 

During my studies, I was more inclined and interested in studying marketing and eventually pursuing a career in this field. Marketing always gave me the freedom to be creative and think outside of the box. I was always interested in how the thought process of a client is determined by a particular marketing campaign and how such campaign is set up. 

What 5 words would your team members use to describe you?  

Creative, driven, honest, techy, and sports enthusiast. 

From Affiliate Coordinator to Junior Marketing Manager – tell us a bit about the promotion and the journey to achieve it?  

After working at the company for about a year, I was promoted to Junior Marketing Manager. The growth opportunity came along and my superiors chose to promote me rather seeking external candidates. Having their trust and support, paved the way for my next step in my professional career in marketing. 

Personally, I feel that onboarding this new role came with additional responsibilities which helped me grow.  

What advice would you give to team members who want to grow within the company?  

If you’re conscientious, determined and work hard enough, the opportunities will present themselves to you. Having the right mentality, will take you to many places.   

What do you like most about working at Arringo?  

Being part of a growing company in the fintech industry, makes me feel that I’m working towards something bigger. The fintech industry has exploded in the last few years, bringing innovation and advancements to the marketing and financial sectors of the world. I am happy to form part of pioneering technology in its nascent phase. 

One of my favourite aspects about working at Arringo is that we are provided with the opportunity to learn from other colleagues in senior positions in the company, in order to further develop our skills and expertise.  

I love that every day presents me with different challenges. This has meant that I’ve had an opportunity to gain an understanding of the industry and develop my problem-solving and organizational skills. Moreover, in the Marketing department, we are interdependent on one another, we are a relatively small and semi-young team, which helps us bond with each other, creating our own safe space. This results in high productivity and strong collaboration. 

What is one thing that you would do for free for the rest of your life?  

I love travelling around the world, experiencing different cultures and countries. Unfortunately, this comes at a great cost, so if I could do it for free, that wouldn’t be a bad idea.
